Rosin is an essential piece of gear for a string player -without that, no sound can be made. It is a tool, not less necessary than one’s bow and instrument, not a luxury good. And, as any other professional tool, it needs to be of high quality and reasonably priced.
The philosophy at 050 Rosins is exactly this: offering a piece of gear that is of top quality, sturdy and reliable, without frills and affordable. No fancy wraps, no convoluted packaging, no romanticised backstories: only pure quality and reliability for the professional musician.
The 050 Bass Soft rosin is a powerful, noble sounding rosin, for all playing situations. It is sticky enough to withstand any powerful orchestral/chamber situation, without ever getting gritty or noisy, which also makes it perfectly suitable for soloing.
Sound wise, it produces a powerful, focused and deep tone, with a pleasant dark note, yet not lacking any clarity and resonance, even with the most nuanced playing.
050 hard rosin is especially designed for chamber and solo playing, is also perfect for orchestral players who prefer a harder blend, and is ideal in warmer areas and seasons!
Tone wise, it retains the usual power and fullness you’re used to with 050 Rosin, with a pleasant added shimmer and increased clarity!
050 Super Sticky for Double Bass is a brand-new formula for bassists who want plenty of power, attack and a dark, rich orchestral tone, without having to compromise on the clarity and tonal richness of the soft blend.
It comes in new, practical and plastic-free packaging. This rosin is already used by bassists in several major orchestras, such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the orchestra of the Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona and La Scala in Milan.
050 Dark Formula – This rosin contains a special ingredient which gives it its unique texture and feel. While this rosin feels less sticky when applied, it is as powerful and grabs as good as our Soft blend (if not more), a smooth feel, especially during the hotter months – this rosin will behave very well even when temperatures hit the ceiling, without the risk of becoming too runny. Even after multiple strokes the sound remains clean, with little to no background noise. Sound wise, compared to its “sisters”, this blend enhances even more the low-mid overtones, resulting in a warm, vibrant, smooth and clear tone which will work perfectly both in solo and orchestral playing.
050 rosins come in a paper cup and carton box.
