Anima Nova – adjustable Carbon soundpost for double bass

Traditionally, the soundpost has been made of wood for centuries. The Anima Nova is a height-adjustable soundpost with adaptable ball joints made of the high-quality material carbon, which can be used again and again. Carbon, a compound of carbon and epoxy resin, is a modern material – extremely light, extremely strong and virtually indestructible. Anima Nova can be adjusted in height by hundredths of a millimeter thanks to its thread. Thanks to its ball joints, Anima Nova automatically adapts to any curvature of the instrument body, distributing the pressure evenly over the entire contact surface.
Anima Nova can be fitted and adjusted by the luthier using specially developed tools. For large stringed instruments like the double bass that react to external influences such as temperature or humidity, Anima Nova can be readjusted – while remaining in the instrument body. Anima Nova thus enables precise synchronization of the instrument’s vibrations and therefore full sound development through an unimagined richness of overtones.
