Double bass “Wilhelm August Otto”

This bass was likely built in Markneukirchen (Saxony) in the 1920s. It has a small metal tag on the back plates that reads: “Wilhelm August Otto, Musikinstrumente und Saiten, Markneukirchen i/S.”. It was completely restored in our workshop. The sides and back were in very good condition, but we decided to completely replace the top. We also replaced the neck—the bass now has a comfortable D scale length of 104 cm and a more ergonomic neck angle.
