Shadow SH950

The design of the Shadow bridge piano pickups has been tried and tested for almost 30 years. The pickups are clamped into the slot under the web wing. Each pickup element has two opposing sensors, which means that both the sound of the strings and the top is recorded. Compared to pickups that sit under the bridge foot, bridge wing pickups sound a bit more centered. (The dimensions of the slits differ from bridge to bridge – if the slits are too narrow, you may have to carve or file the slit a little wider, or if the slits are too wide, you may have to use some wood veneer to ensure a tight fit.)
Shadow manufactures two models: the SH950 has two pickups (one for each bridge slot), the SH951 has only one pickup, which is usually mounted on the bass side of the bridge.
