Realbass Single double bass amp

Michael Schäfer, the manufacturer of the Bassbalsereit pickup, presented his first Realbass bass amp at Frankfurt Musikmesse 2015. This amp is packed with intelligent electronics, and is perfectly tuned for the amplification of double basses. Only high-quality, analogue components from German suppliers are used; the assembly and assembly also takes place in this country.
The input is designed as a combination socket for XLR and jack. Behind this are three completely separate preamplifiers that activate automatically depending on the plug and switch position (L/H). The XLR part of the input jack is designed as a classic microphone input, optionally with or without phantom power (48V), the jack part as a stereo jack (TIP = signal, RING = phantom power). It includes two separate input preamps, which are selected with the L/H toggle switch. Phantom power can also be switched on here (15V). The VU indicator helps to find the optimal gain setting for the pickup being used (if the red LED lights up, the input signal must be reduced). In addition to the phase reversal switch, there is also a LOW-CUT filter: it can be used to limit the low frequencies of the input signal (10-130 Hz). A compressor can also be switched on. The tone control has a semi-parametric center control, and of course the amp also has an effects path, additional speaker output and DI-out with ground lift.
